3 Peaks Challenge Team

Welcome to the team page

Well, they say football's a game of two halves and the 3PC is very similar! We have two teams, both of which are essential to the success of the challenge. The atheltic walking team are backed up by the might of the admin team who's job it is to arrange publicity and acquire sponsorship for our chosen charities

Walking Team

Warren Bird - Project Development Manager
Walk Co-ordinator

Has worked at Wastefile UK for 10 years this year, initially as an Operations Executive and now as a Project Development Manager. His hobbies include walking, playing football, playing guitar and following his beloved West Bromwich Albion. The 3 Peaks Challenge is an event he has wished to tackle for a number of years and thinks he had better try before his 40th birthday or before his knees give out.

Chris Holliday - Project Development Manager
Wastefile 3 Peaks Challenge Organiser

After returning from a round the world trip, Chris rejoined Wastefile and has now been with the company for nearly 5 years. His crazy idea to compete in the 3 Peaks Challenge began back in 2004. Now at last the team has finally given in to his pleadings!! His hobbies include playing football, badminton, walking and supporting the all conquering Liverpool (winners of 5 Champions Leagues, soon to be 6!!). And did we mention he’s been travelling??!!

Julie Masefield - Customer Care Executive
Wastefile 3 Peaks Challenge Team Member

Julie has lived in Ironbridge, Shropshire for almost 3 years and has worked at Wastefile since November 2003. In her spare time she loves to draw, paint and sketch. "Keeping fit is a must!" says Julie and has recently started doing Pilates, Tai Chi & Yoga. She has always enjoyed walking and cross country running and in the past has completed a Half Marathon. She also enjoys biking and socialising. Her motivation for taking part in the 3PC is the enjoyment and getting involved in charitable events. In her own words: - "This was an event I could not miss out on. Not only to stretch my limits but also because it’s all for a good cause". She continued "There are still many things I would like to get involved in or even try. I've never been afraid to try anything."

Nikki Owen - Customer Care Executive
Wastefile 3 Peaks Challenge Team Member

Nikki has worked at Wastefile for nearly 2 years In her spare time she enjoys swimming, walking the dog, Pilates, Tai Chi and going to the pub with friends. Nikki is doing the 3PC to raise money for charity as well as to see if she has the endurance and stamina to conquer the 3 peaks.

Zoe Perrins - Regional Sales Executive
Wastefile 3 Peaks Challenge Team Member

Like a couple of the other team members, Zoe originates from the Black Country in the West Midlands. She now lives in Telford. Zoe is a big Wolves fan. That doesn't mean she likes large lupines but follows Wolverhampton Wanderers FC. Zoe is Regional sales Manager for Wastefile UK, and has worked there for nearly 9 years. In her spare time, she likes to go to the gym, play badminton and go walking (good job really!) She is often out with friends and may indulge in 1 or 2 drinks! Zoe also loves travelling and has recently come back from New York. Last time Zoe walked up Snowdon, half way up, she split her trousers. Some walkers thought that there was a Full Moon that day. Lets hope we don't have a repeat performance on the 3PC!

Ben Powis - Environmental Compliance Executive
Wastefile 3 Peaks Challenge Team Member

More info coming soon...

Jason Wheatley - Software Engineer
Wastefile 3 Peaks Challenge Team Member
(See Jason's Blog)

Jason was dragged along to this noble cause by his best friend Warren Bird. Jason has been climbing mountains since the days when Wham! were in the charts. In his spare time he plays guitar in a band with Warren and his other bestest friend Ian. Please no jokes about "Sharks with lasers". He's heard them all before.

Admin Team

Caroline Holdway - Marketing Executive
Fund Rasing & Publicity

Caroline has been with Wastefile for 18 months. Unfortunately dying on the first training walk didn't absolve Caroline's responsibilities with the challenge. Now banned from walking, Wastefile UK's marketing guru is responsible for making this the most famous team to ever complete the three peaks. In between talking to her computer and singing show tunes (much to the delight of Mr Holliday), Caroline is making the sure the money keeps rolling in and using this as an excuse to meet as many firemen as possible!

Brian Marshall - Environment & Compliance Manager
Driver

By day Brian is the all seeing eye in the compliance division ensuring all Wastefile’s customers are environmentally compliant. However by night he transforms into a Knight of the road (or at least for the 3 peaks challenge he will) as he becomes one of the team drivers/support team. Brian has worked for Wastefile for 6 years and in his spare time enjoys driving and regularly competes in various up hill challenges in his Porsche 924S. For him, the opportunity to get behind the wheel for such a worthy cause could not be missed.

Duncan Watkyns - Customer Care Operations Executive (Plasterboard Division)
Driver

Duncan has worked for Wastefile for just over a year. In his spare time he enjoys football (mainly watching nowadays he says). He is an ardent Liverpool fan. Other hobbies include scuba diving, computers and going to the gym. Duncan got interested in the challenge as an incentive to get fit and a good way to get to know fellow employees socially. He lived in Spain for 7 Years and has a 3 1/2 year old daughter called Lia. He says his partner Mandy will be "glad of the break from me for the weekend"n.
