Charity info
For the Three Peaks Challenge 2007, Wastefile UK have committed to dedicate all money raised on a 50:50 basis, between the FSNBF and Hope House Children’s Hospices charities:
Fire Services National Benevolent Fund
Despite the best training and dedication, there are inevitably times when firefighters run into a burning building and come out on a stretcher. Tragically, there are sadly still times when they never come out ever again. The FSNBF supports these heroes when things do not go according to plan providing assistance to serving and retired personnel, their widow/ers and young dependants through the provision of sheltered accommodation, recuperative facilities, rehabilitation and therapy, in addition to financial support for those who need it. The charity has three UK centres which provide this range of support services.
Hope House
Hope House Children’s Hospices are a local Shropshire charity, providing respite, palliative care and terminal nursing for life-limited children. The organisation runs two hospices – Hope House in Oswestry and Ty Gobaith in Conwy. Support is also offered in the family home by the Community Care Team. Bereavement support and counselling is available to all family members for as long as it is necessary. Hope House Children’s Hospices relies almost entirely upon voluntary donations to maintain running costs of £3.5million each year
