The Challenge



The FSNBF Three Peaks Challenge is the classic mountain challenge and the UK Fire Services largest sporting event. Our team will compete alongside teams from the Fire Service and Non-Fire Service Sectors to complete the challenge, taking place on Sunday 17th –Monday 18th June 2007.


A team of walkers, plus two drivers, has 24 hours in which to climb the highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales, respectively, and raise money for our selected charities. The event starts at Ben Nevis in the Scottish Highlands., moving to Scafell Pike in the Lake District, and ends at the foot of Snowdon in North Wales. It will take approximately 5½ hours to go up and down Ben Nevis, 4½ hours for Scafell and 3½ hours for Snowdon, plus travel and rest time all in the 24 hour period!!


The Wastefile UK team includes Chris Holliday (Team Organiser), Warren Bird (Walk Coordinator), Julie Masefield, Nikki Owen, Zoe Perrins, Ben Powis and Jason Wheatley with Brian Marshall and Duncan Watkyns as the support crew.


In accordance with our corporate Carbon Neutral Policy, Wastefile UK will compensate for the environmental impacts of our participation in the challenge and training, by providing an independent donation to the Woodland Trust, the UK's leading conservation charity, towards their tree planting programme.
